CRAFT & ART

Updated: Feb 25, 2022

Craft is a form of making which generally produces an object that has a function: such as something you can wear, or eat or drink from. Examples range from ceramics, knitting, weaving, embroidery, beading, baking etc.

In the past crafts has been considered a lesser form of art, because of its association with "women's work" and indigenous craft. In the contemporary art work many artists are reclaiming craft in the fine art world.
